Rates & Insurance

Insurance
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please first check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?
 
 
For health insurance plans, Dr. Peterson is considered an Out-of-Network provider for any PPO plan. In this case, the client pays privately at the time of service for each session and is then provided with a monthly statement that can be submitted to insurance carriers for re-imbursement. No HMO plans are accepted.  In addition, Dr. Peterson accepts Medicare Part B and will provide billing directly to Medicare for his payment. Medicare clients do not need to pay at the time of service except for any co-pay that may be required.   Please discuss questions regarding co-payment directly with Dr. Peterson.   He also accepts private pay individuals and couples. In this case, payment is made at the time of service and payable with cash or by check. 

Reduced Fee
Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis with restrictions on time of day and day of the week.  Reductions are based on income and ability to pay with proof of income required.  Please speak directly with Dr. Peterson for more information.

Payment
Cash or check are accepted for payment at the time of service.  Credit card payments for services are accepted through this website using PayPal.  There is a $5 service fee associated with this convenience.  Click on the "Make a Payment" tab to get started.

Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.  As a note to Medicare clients, Medicare does not pay for missed sessions so you will need to pay out-of-pocket for any missed sessions.  When a legitimate illness or other emergency is involved, consideration will be given to waiving the charge.
